Disinformation

http://www.drudgereport.com/flash3.htm

The chief of Russia's strategic forces on Saturday attended the deployment of a new set of state-of-the art intercontinental ballistic missiles, boasting of their capability to penetrate any prospective missile defense, news reports said.

Col. Gen. Nikolai Solovtsov, chief of the Strategic Missile Forces, took part in a ceremony that marked the commissioning of the latest set of Topol-M missiles at a missile base in Tatishchevo in the Volga River's Saratov region.

Here we go again. Can it be more obvious that competing ideologies are desperate to prevent us from developing a missile defense system? Foreign interests have long enjoyed the gullible academic channel for disinformation and pseudo academic beliefs that dilute our intellectual resolve. It seems increasingly clear that our security rests with a strong lead in technology. Traditional military solutions seem dubious visa vie Korea, Viet Nam and Iraq with their high cost in economic and human terms.

The missile defense initiative has been a whipping post for academic disinformation for a very long time. In the meantime we have spent a fortune in developing one. The controversy has even become political. “Where is the threat?” they ask. Maybe there is one in the long run.

Is Russia’s unstoppable missile now the threat that proves the point? I wonder if Col. Solovtsov has a missile at all, or if Russia is playing a game of chess and attempting to call us out and into divulging the true nature of our defensive strategy. That’s assuming we have one.
