Hughesair (Inflection Point)

Retired physician and air taxi operator, science writer and part time assistant professor, these editorials cover a wide range of topics. Mostly non political, mostly true, I write more from a lifetime of experience and from research, more science than convention. Subjects cover medicine, Alaska aviation, economics, technology and an occasional book review. Globalization or Democracy documents the historical roots of Oligarchy, the road to colonialism and tyranny

Robotics

Honda Robots Pair Up to Lend a Hand

Can you think of anything that would jump productivity more than robotics? Think about it. While we strive to be the only super power, "number one," the world, engaged in more productive persuits, will pass us by! We are not number one in medicine, not in heavy industry, energy indipendence, advanced physics or humanity. Our contribution to and support of technology and science lags way behind. Where is the inteligence. These, I think, are the real issues.
