Hybrid Electric at Daytona, maybe

The outcome at Daytona was sad. Despite the #59car posting the fastest qualifying time, the race ended in lap 7 when a 10 car pileup took Leilani out of the race. Check the above link for a photo of #59 in the pole position. I am still anxious to learn if this car races with any hybrid technology, or if any such is planed for the future. I think the public will buy electric cars when they see lightning shoot out of the exhayst and Leilani at the wheel. If you are curious, check out the new Porche 918 Spyder.

Ah, a secrete weapon! That extra torque, accelerating out of a turn, the cooler energy capturing braking entering a turn and the extra miles on limited fuel might make a believer out of race fans. Only when race fans identify "e" power with burning rubber and new track records will the public fully embrace electric, hybrid, plug-in, fuel cell or whatever. A little lightning out the exhaust might help, and yes, the smell of ozone in the air. Earth Friendly Coffee should fit right in. We carbon offset with Native Energy too.

A smal incrament of domestic economic activity drives a large increase in the GDP. Vvelocity times money supply equals gross domestic product (GDP). The Velocity in single didgits when multiplied by money in the trillions has far greater effect than interest rates. For many decades, society overlooked and denounced Domestic labord. IRS reporting requirements, imcontax on the worker and social stigma discouraged if not eliminated this valuable segment of the labor force. Tax free, regulation free, domestic employment would add a significant boost to the overall economy, employ the unemployable, and provide shelter to the homeless, not a hundred percent, but to a significant degree. Think affordable houskeeping, cooking, and babysitting for the single mother working long hours.
