Hughesair (Inflection Point)

Retired physician and air taxi operator, science writer and part time assistant professor, these editorials cover a wide range of topics. Mostly non political, mostly true, I write more from a lifetime of experience and from research, more science than convention. Subjects cover medicine, Alaska aviation, economics, technology and an occasional book review. Globalization or Democracy documents the historical roots of Oligarchy, the road to colonialism and tyranny

"Apple negotiating unlimited music deal-FT
Apple (AAPL) is negotiating an agreement with the major music companies that would allow the computer maker to offer its customers free access to the entire iTunes music library, in exchange for paying a premium for iPod and iPhone devices. Sources say the sticking point in the negotiations is the amount per device that Apple would pay the music companies for unlimited access to their songs. Apple has offered $20 per device, while Nokia (NOK) has offered almost $80 per handset." :theflyonthewall.com

Apple and Nokia can do the negotiation with Daddy Warbucks; we sure can't.
