Retired physician and air taxi operator, science writer and part time assistant professor, these editorials cover a wide range of topics. Mostly non political, mostly true, I write more from a lifetime of experience and from research, more science than convention. Subjects cover medicine, Alaska aviation, economics, technology and an occasional book review. Chopin's poleniase number 6 in a flat major op 53

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLoX1ZJeeoQ Most pianists including Horowitz paly this much too fast as if in a hurry to grt it over with. This is a romantic piece and needs to be savored. It's a woman's piece. Played here by Idil Biret, he almost has it as good as a young girl in the class behind me in High School who's playing I will never forget.

The digital sound just does not cut it. Digital sound by definition has holes in it. Between the wholes in the origional recording, those made in the upload to Youtub and the wholes in the digital of my hearing aids, I would rather have the scratch of a vinal or better still a small cafe - coffee house with live piano. --- Like where Chopin hung out. -- with a cup ov Vienna as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCSEwfqs-VM This one comes closer. Perhaps it takes a woman's sensitivity and hands to make the piano sing what Chopin must have had in mind. Note the tears.
