Hughesair (Inflection Point)

Retired physician and air taxi operator, science writer and part time assistant professor, these editorials cover a wide range of topics. Mostly non political, mostly true, I write more from a lifetime of experience and from research, more science than convention. Subjects cover medicine, Alaska aviation, economics, technology and an occasional book review. Globalization or Democracy documents the historical roots of Oligarchy, the road to colonialism and tyranny

The Elections

Insanity, both sides should be ashamed. The right insists upon less government spending at any cost, ignoring even denying infrastructure, like health care, the environment, transportation and education, whilst the left insists upon unbridled freedom without concern for consequences, like pot, globalization, the ACLU and immigration. There is such polarization in political dogma that there is no common sense. Arguably, term limits could end the insanity and put government in the hands of citizens as the constitution intended.
